Book Title: Women, Work and Rural Transformation: Entrepreneurship Perspectives | Rural Women Entrepreneurs | AGPH Books

Women, Work and Rural Transformation: Entrepreneurship Perspectives examines the evolving role of women in shaping rural economies through entrepreneurship, innovation, and productive participation in economic activities. The book highlights how women have emerged as important agents of change in rural communities by creating enterprises, generating employment opportunities, and contributing to local development. It explores the relationship between women's economic empowerment and broader processes of rural transformation in developing economies. The volume provides a comprehensive understanding of the opportunities and challenges associated with rural women’s entrepreneurship. It discusses issues such as access to education, skill development, financial inclusion, market connectivity, technological adoption, and institutional support systems. Particular attention is given to the social and cultural barriers that often restrict women’s participation in entrepreneurial activities and the strategies employed to overcome these obstacles. Through theoretical discussions and practical insights, the book demonstrates how entrepreneurship can enhance women’s economic independence and social status. The book further examines the role of government initiatives, self-help groups, microfinance institutions, cooperatives, and community-based organizations in promoting women-led enterprises. It highlights successful models of rural entrepreneurship that contribute to income generation, poverty reduction, and sustainable development. The discussions emphasize the importance of creating an enabling ecosystem that supports innovation, leadership, and business growth among rural women. Designed for students, researchers, academicians, policymakers, and development practitioners, this book offers valuable perspectives on the intersection of gender, work, entrepreneurship, and rural development. It serves as a useful resource for understanding how women’s entrepreneurial efforts can drive inclusive growth and sustainable rural transformation.
