Book Title: Unlocking Parallel Power: A Comprehensive Guide to High-Performance Computing for Next-Generation Engineers | Parallel Computing and Scalability | AGPH Books
High-Performance Computing (HPC) plays a vital role in solving some of the most complex challenges across science, technology, and industry. As data volumes grow exponentially and real-time analysis becomes critical, engineers must master HPC concepts to stay relevant. Unlocking Parallel Power serves as a comprehensive guide for aspiring engineers and computing professionals who want to harness the full potential of parallelism.
The book begins with the fundamentals of computational complexity, performance metrics, and data partitioning. It then guides readers into the dynamic ecosystem of parallel computing. It explains theoretical models such as PRAM and examines modern architectures, including multi-core processors, supercomputers, and GPU-based systems. The text clearly links foundational theory with real-world implementation. It thoroughly covers key programming paradigms such as OpenMP, MPI, and CUDA, along with hybrid approaches and power-aware computing strategies. Readers develop skills in algorithm design, performance tuning, concurrency control, and memory management, enabling them to write scalable and efficient code.
The book further examines modern programming languages such as Python and Rust, providing comparative analysis and practical frameworks. Dedicated sections on simulation tools, benchmarking methods, and real-world case studies prepare learners for industry demands. Ultimately, this book equips the next generation of engineers to innovate confidently and contribute meaningfully to the evolving field of high-performance computing.
