The field of pharmacy known as “pharmaceutical chemistry” examines the chemical components of medications. The fields of pharmacokinetics (the study of how a medication is metabolized in the body) and pharmacodynamics (the study of how a drug works in the body) were completely transformed by the advent of the molecular biology.
