Book Title: Evidence-Centric Cloud Security Operations (A Practical Assurance Playbook for Federal Suppliers and Critical Infrastructure) | Evidence-Based Security Assurance | AGPH Books
Evidence-Centric Cloud Security Operations (A Practical Assurance Playbook for Federal Suppliers and Critical Infrastructure) presents a forward-looking and practical framework for transforming cloud security from a process of assumed trust into one of demonstrable assurance. Designed for federal suppliers, cloud security professionals, compliance teams, auditors, and critical infrastructure operators, the book addresses the growing need for verifiable evidence in modern security operations. The book introduces innovative concepts such as Remediation Evidence Objects (REOs), Exposure Window measurement, Supplier Trust Packages, Evidence Fabrics, and Rules-as-Code governance, providing readers with structured methods for proving security actions rather than merely reporting them. It explores the challenges of continuous monitoring, rollout integrity, policy enforcement, cloud compliance, and post-quantum readiness within complex federal environments. Combining architectural guidance, operational frameworks, implementation patterns, and governance models, the text demonstrates how evidence can be captured, validated, protected, and presented throughout the security lifecycle. Particular emphasis is placed on cloud-native technologies, Kubernetes environments, automation, and continuous authorisation practices. By bridging the gap between technical operations, regulatory expectations, and audit requirements, this book offers a comprehensive roadmap for building trustworthy, measurable, and resilient cloud security programmes. It equips organisations to strengthen accountability, reduce risk exposure, and establish confidence through verifiable security evidence in an increasingly demanding digital landscape.

About the Author
Shuaib Ahmed is a cloud security and DevSecOps engineer with over seven years of hands-on experience securing federal cloud environments across Microsoft Azure, Kubernetes, and AKS platforms. Holding a Master of Science in Cybersecurity and currently pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy in Applied Artificial Intelligence, the author brings a rare combination of deep operational expertise and active academic research to one of the most critical gaps in federal cloud security — the ability to prove, not just claim, that systems are secure. A Certified Kubernetes Security Specialist (CKS), the author has built a focused body of work at the intersection of cloud infrastructure, compliance, and security assurance. This research has been recognized through multiple publications in IEEE conferences and has led to two significant intellectual contributions — an invention patented in the United States covering systems for generating Remediation Evidence Objects in cloud platforms, and a patent published in India covering rules-as-code authorization evidence generation for federal cloud suppliers. Both patents reflect original frameworks developed through years of hands-on work in federal cloud environments. This book is the practical extension of that work. Every framework, schema, and workflow presented in these pages is grounded in real implementation experience and peer-reviewed research, written specifically for the engineers, compliance leads, and DevSecOps practitioners who build and operate federal cloud systems every day. Currently based in the United States, the author is actively engaged in disseminating this evidence-centric assurance framework across the federal supplier and critical infrastructure community.
