Book Title: Architecture and Built Environment: Theory, Practice and Innovations | Design & Construction Analysis | AGPH Books
Architecture and Built Environment: Theory, Practice and Innovations presents a comprehensive exploration of the interplay between human society, culture, and the spaces we inhabit. The book traces the historical evolution of architectural thought, examining foundational concepts, the influence of cultural and environmental contexts, and the typologies that shape diverse built forms. It delves into the principles of design, addressing spatial planning, composition, proportion, materiality, and construction logic, while highlighting iterative methodologies and the transformative role of technology. The study of construction systems encompasses traditional and modern techniques, structural principles, performance of materials, integration of building services, and the adoption of digital fabrication alongside sustainable technologies. Urban planning is considered through principles of design, land-use regulation, transportation networks, public spaces, and strategies for managing growth, density, and redevelopment. Sustainability is addressed comprehensively, with a focus on climateresponsive strategies, energy efficiency, resource conservation, green building assessment, and resilient design approaches. Looking forward, the book investigates innovations shaping contemporary practice, including smart buildings, artificial intelligence in design, parametric and computational tools, and emerging materials. By weaving together theory, practical methodologies, environmental performance, and forward-looking innovations, Architecture and Built Environment: Theory, Practice and Innovations provides an integrated perspective that equips readers to understand, evaluate, and contribute to the evolving landscape of the built environment.
